about

In all the world, there is nothing new under the sun... I wrote this song earlier this year, inspired by so many things and artists, not sure where to begin. Great lineup on this one, with the addition of Ojo Taylor on keyboards, and he nailed it. My go-to Joe on drums, Phil Keaggy on guitars, and the delightful Emily Lynn singing backing vocals.

lyrics

I've seen the tides start to shift,
The winds of time are blowing
So, I just keep pressing on
Though I don’t know where I’m going

I've seen cities rise and crumble
I’ve seen ancient empires fall,
In this world where the truth is scarce
And the biggest lies stand tall

Oh, my how things will change
Yes, they always will
There ain’t nothing new under the sun
In these troubles times we fill

You know I keep on searchin’
Hoping for some flicker of light
Through the darkness, and though the shadows, That keep me wide awake at night

The voices of the poor and the helpless
They echo loudly in my mind
The cries for mercy, the pleas for justice
Crying out for all mankind.

Oh, my how things will change
You know, you surely knew
There ain’t nothing new under the sun
In these troubled times that we live through

Well you can throw it all out
You can follow your dreams
Or maybe this old world is really
Just as bad as it seems

Standing tall in the face of fear
With hope and glory as my shield
I believe in a better tomorrow,
Where the wounds of the past might heal.

In this world of chaos and trouble
There ain’t nothing wrong with your mind
Sailing through a storm of confusion
Remember now to just to be kind

Oh, my how things will change
Yes, they surely will
There ain’t nothing new under the sun
In these troubles times we fill
