Why Don't We Do It In the Road?

from Some Songs in the Key of Poe by Mike Lawson & Friends

/

about

Vince Welnick and I were both Beatle freaks. Sometime in the late 90s, the folks at Sonic Foundry, now called Magix, released a music production DAW called ACID. It was a revelation in loop arranging and they were releasing a lot of great loop libraries for source material. I had assembled a drum track from kind of a hip hop beat, plays bass and guitars, and screamed out the words, adding solos and making the song much longer than the original Beatles release on The White Album. Vince came to my studio and laid down some piano on it, it was a fun day. I miss that guy.

lyrics

Why don't we do it in the road?
Why don't we do it in the road?
Why don't we do it in the road?
Why don't we do it in the road?
No one will be watching us...
Why don't we do it in the road?
